Recommendations for WebMoney Keeper Light secure operation
- Follow General security tips for reducing PC user experience security threats.
- To run WM Keeper Light, use the latest versions of Internet Explorer (including all installed security patches), Mozilla FireFox, Opera, Safari.
- Follow browser setting recommendations.
- Install the personal certificate. For Internet Explorer, install the certificate in the “strong private key protection” mode (See Keeper Light key import).
- Back up the personal certificate and keys (see Keeper Light key export), and save it at the reliable removable media. Repeat this operation after each personal certificate update.
- Enable IP blocking at the Security service website.
- After the blocking is enabled, you can use Keeper only from the IP-addresses included in Allowed list.
- If the blocking is enabled, and in case of the attempt to get connected to the system from the IP-address not included in the Allowed list, the system access is denied, and the message containing unblocking code is sent to the e-mail or the phone specified when the blocking was enabled.
- If you have any difficulties defining your IP-address, use the tooltip at IP Blocking page.
- Use the mode supporting sending the unblocking code to the phone, not to the e-mail.
- After competing WM Keeper Light operation:
- Delete the personal certificate from the certificate store (before that, ensure that you have its backup available).
- If you use the computer in the exclusive mode and leave the certificate in the store, ensure that the certificate has been saved in the non-exportable “strong private key protection” mode, with the set password that is requested each time.
- Close all browser windows as until they are closed, the application is using your personal certificate.
