Protection code

At present moment, there exist two options for making a protected transfer – ‘code-protected’ transfer and ‘time-protected’ transfer.

Code-protected transfer.

When transferring funds you can close the transfer with protection code. Actually, it is a password, required to receive the transfer.

To make such a transfer you select the corresponding check box in the transfer window, set up and specify protection code and also protection time (it is also possible to configure the program to generate protection code automatically).

In this case the recipient will receive the funds, see them but won’t be able to use them until he/she enters the protection code. If he/she does not enter the code within the time period specified by you (protection time) then the funds will be returned to your purse.

You can use this function differently. For example, when buying an article you transfer funds using this method and let the merchant know the protection code upon the delivery of the bought article (rendering of service, etc).

Most items for funds input-output to/from the system use this option and ask their clients to transfer funds to them protected by protection code. Upon coming to the office and stating the code, the sender, thereby, acknowledges that he/she has made the transfer besides production of the passport.

NB: We never ask our clients to enter protection code for the second time neither on the web-site nor in what place soever. Be careful. We do not charge any additional fee for using protection code.

Time-protected transfer.

When transferring funds you can use time protection, when the transferred funds become available to the recipient automatically after the specified time period expires.

To make such a transfer, you select the corresponding check box in the transfer window and specify protection time period (the period can vary from 1 to 120 days). When making a time-protected transfer, you do not need to specify a protection code.

In this case, the recipient will receive the funds and see them, but will not be able to use them until protection time period expires.

Time-protected transfers are not returned.

Time protection can be useful when paying for services which take time to be executed. For example, you agreed with a web-designer that he/she would create a web-site for you in 7 days. You transfer funds to him/her with 10-day protection, and if the site is not ready after 7 days – you still have three more days before submitting the case to the Arbitration service. We also recommend to make deals via the Arbitration service – then it would be much easier to prove the fact of default on obligations.

All claims must be formalized via WebMoney Arbitration service.
