Creating a shares portfolio

A member’s investment portfolio is created by purchasing, selling or voluntarily transferring the shares of budget automation tools. The decision about modifying the structure of an investment portfolio is made independently by the member and the task itself can be accomplished in two ways: by choosing a suitable buy or sell offer and closing the deal at once or by posting a new offer and waiting for an interested party to respond to it.

An offer to sell own shares can be either targeted – that is, intended for a specific WMID – or public and accessible for all members of the service. To post an offer to buy shares, you need to allow the WMID of the Capitaller service to automatically withdraw funds from your purse. The purse must also have enough funds for purchasing the shares for the offered price.

When buying shares of a specific BA, the member must first review its foundation documents and join the “Participants’ agreement on joint management of a budget automation tool”.

You can buy and sell the shares of budget automation tools at any time, except for periods when the management fund of a specific BA is being created or increased.

Structure of the shares portfolio

The “List of shares” tab in the “Portfolio” section contains a list of all budget automation tools the member has shares in. The member can sell or voluntarily transfer shares to any other member of the WebMoney Transfer system.

Each row of the table includes a WMID, brief and full names of the BA, the number of shares owned by the shareholder and the number of shares being sold. The last column of the table contains a group of icons linking to detailed information about the BA: details, reports, payouts, share auctions, list of shareholders. Below the table are special forms for posting offers to sell and submitting free transfer requests.

To create an offer to sell, you need to click the “Propose to buy” button, select a tool in the newly-opened form, fill out the required fields (“Number of shares to transfer” and “Share price”), and specify the number of the purse that defines the currency of the offer. If necessary, you can also fill out the “WMID of the new owner of shares” field. If no WMID is specified, this offer will be accessible for all current and potential shareholders of this BA. If the BA is registered in the public registry, the offer will be accessible for all members.
To transfer shares free of charge, you need to open the “Transfer shares” form, fill out the necessary fields, specify that the shares are being transferred for free and click the “Save” button.

Managing the shares portfolio

The “Offer” tab in the “Portfolio” section allows members to sell and buy shares through open auctions and offers posted by other members, as well as to post their own offers to sell or buy shares.

The “Tools” page contains a list of all BA’s with a set of the following auction details:

  • best offers to buy (demand price and number of shares) and sell (offer price and number of shares) at the moment;
  • the most recent deal (price/number of shares);
  • total volume of transactions on this day and average deal price;
  • average deal price on the previous day.

Members can sort the list of BA’s by any parameter using links in the table header.

The “Buy/sell” page can be opened by clicking a BA’s name or by clicking a corresponding tab. It contains all buy and sell offers for this BA. Sell offers are grouped in the first part of the table and buy offers can be found in the second one. Additional information about the most recent share trading transactions is located to the right of the table.

In order to purchase BA shares, you need to find a suitable offer and click the “Buy” link that will open a new page called “For sale”. To sell shares, you need to find an offer and click the “Sell” link. In this case, you will be redirected to the “To buy” page.

If the member doesn’t like any of the available offers, he can post his own one by clicking the “Add an offer” link. Your own offers differ from all others on the general list in that instead of a “Buy” (“Sell”) link, there will be a “Delete” link.

Buying shares

The “For sale” page allows members to buy shares of budget automation tools. The page contains a list of all currently active offers sorted by ascending price.

To close a deal, find a suitable offer in the list and select it by clicking an icon in the first column or simply by clicking the row containing the offer. Enter the number of shares you want to buy into the form under the list (the number cannot exceed the number of shares in the offer), check the boxes to confirm that you have read and agreed with the BA’s foundation documents and click the “Pay” button. Then follow the instructions to make a direct deposit to the purse of the Capitaller service. Once the payment is complete, the service will automatically transfer the purchased shares to the portfolio of their new owner.

Selling shares

The “To buy” page allows members to sell their shares of budget automation tools. It contains a list of all purchase offers sorted by descending price per share.

To close a deal, find a suitable offer in the list and select it by clicking an icon in the first column or simply by clicking the row containing the offer. Enter the number of shares you want to sell (the number cannot exceed the number of shares in the offer), the number of the purse where the funds will be transferred to and click “Save”.
After that, click “OK” in the confirmation window. The money for the sold shares will be deposited to the specified purse within 5 minutes.

Managing buy and sell offers

The “My offers” tab in the “Portfolio” section allows members to create and delete their own buy and sell offers.

To create a new offer to sell, go to the “Sell” page. Under the table, click the “Suggest buying” button and use the new form to select a tool. Once done, fill out the mandatory fields: “Number of shares transferred”, “Share price” and the number of the purse that will define the currency of the deal. If necessary, enter WMID of the new owner into the corresponding field. If the WMID of the new owner is not specified, the offer will be accessible for all current and prospective owners of shares of this BA. If the BA is registered in the public registry, the offer becomes accessible for all members of the WebMoney Transfer system. To remove the offer, click an icon in the “Delete” cell of the row containing the offer and confirm your intention to complete the operation.

If you want to transfer shares free of change, open the “Transfer shares” form, fill out the fields (make sure to specify that that shares are being transferred voluntarily) and click the “Save” button.

New offers to buy BA shares are posted on the “Buy” page. Here you need to navigate to the end of the active offers list and click the “New” button. Use the form to enter the number of shares you are buying, price per share and the number of the purse your order amount will be charged to in case your offer is accepted by one of the shareholders of this BA. After that, check the boxes to confirm that you have read and agreed with the BA’s foundation documents and click the “Save offer” button.

Payment for purchased shares is processed automatically and does not require the involvement of the author of the offer to buy. Therefore, prior to creating an offer, you need to authorize the WMID of the Capitaller service to withdraw funds from your purse. This power of attorney is created on the security.wmtransfer.com website, where you can get by clicking a link to the right of the purse selection field.
Note that if the amount of available funds in the selected purse appears insufficient during the offer validity period, the offer will be automatically deleted. If you want to delete an offer manually, click the icon in the “Delete” cell on the row containing the unnecessary offer and confirm its deletion.

Information about closed deals

Detailed history of operations related to buying or selling BA shares is available on the “Deals” tab in the “Portfolio” section. The “My” page contains a list of the member’s own operations and the “All” page contains a complete list of operations with the shares of public BA’s. You can also filter deals by a time period or the name of a specific BA.
